At Kids Club, one of the most common questions we receive from prospective parents is: “How much are your childcare fees, and what is included in the cost?”. And rightly so! Parents should want to understand what their fees cover – right down to every last baby wipe!
There is a widespread perception that daycare fees are costly; indeed, some providers charge substantially more than others. That’s why it’s essential to ask questions about the cost of childcare when you approach a centre, so you know what to expect when it comes to paying the fees – and, equally critical, precisely what those fees cover.
In this article, we explain what to expect as part of your childcare fees at Kids Club.
With the average fees in New South Wales childcare centres around Sydney are currently around $177* per day, while childcare in Queensland averages around $130* per day, it’s no surprise hard-working parents want to understand what this investment covers.
To make what’s already a complex matter even more so, daycare centre fees can differ greatly from one provider to the next. You need your detective’s hat on to fully understand what each provider brings to the table.
Childcare day rates are split into two categories as follows:
Thankfully, these costs don’t tend to fluctuate often, and a provider should be able to fix their childcare fees for at least a year at a time.
At Kids Club, we are proud to offer a high level of early childhood education and care at an affordable, all-inclusive cost.
Most people in the modern era rely on childcare to allow them to work and earn money. Fortunately, our government prioritises the need for working families to balance their income against monthly childcare costs. It offers two financial streams to help parents and carers offset part of their fees, which you must apply for via your myGov account.
CCS is financial assistance to help cover the costs of approved childcare. The amount you receive depends on the hours you or your partner work, your combined income, your child’s age and the type of childcare they receive.
ACCS goes beyond regular assistance to help those facing barriers to childcare – for example, when a grandparent is the primary carer or families facing significant financial difficulty.
Aside from providing great financial assistance to families with young children, the good thing about both streams is how they are paid directly to the childcare provider. This means the provider only needs to charge you the difference between the claim amount and their daycare fees, so you are not out of pocket. It is always a good idea to have your CCS sorted prior to commencing care so you are only charged the gap amount, otherwise you are responsible for full fees.
Once you know the amount of funding you are entitled to, a childcare provider can confirm your estimated final out of pocket costs for their services.

So, what exactly does Kids Club cover in its daycare centre fees?
Believe us when we say everything! Our centres pride themselves on a ‘no-hidden-extras’ approach to childcare provision, with fees covering all your child might need each day to keep them happy and healthy. That’s their food and drinks, nappies, and all-day learning opportunities!
Here’s what we mean by everything:
From tangibles like food to non-tangibles like extra-curricular activities, you won’t pay a cent more than the daily fee for your child’s care. At Kids Club, we feel it is much easier to do it this way than to charge less and expect busy parents to remember to pack items for their children. It is tough enough for parents to get young ones prepared for childcare each morning without more things to think about!

Our all-inclusive, high-quality childcare might sound too good to be true. Yet, it makes sense to us to provide a complete package to busy parents and carers rather than a potentially confusing opt-in/opt-out style of service.
To give you an idea of our current fees before any government funding is applied, here are the current costs of Kids Club Day Centres in NSW, VIC, QLD and TAS.
Considering that most families are entitled to something from the government to help cover their childcare fees, you will likely pay much less than these amounts for Kids Club childcare. For high-quality care delivered by trusted professionals in our award-winning centres, it provides an invaluable experience for your child, kick-starting their education journey ahead of primary school.
Kids Club has developed a CCS estimator to give you an idea of how much your out of pocket costs are once CCS has been applied at your nominated Kids Club centre. See our CCS calculator here
