At Kids Club, our play-based Educational Program is enriched by a range of inclusive extracurricular experiences that extend children’s interests and learning.
These experiences create opportunities for children to explore something new, build confidence, develop skills and discover new interests, all as part of their day at Kids Club.
Sometimes, it’s the smallest moments that make the biggest impression. A new skill, a new interest, or something they can’t wait to tell you about at pick-up.
The extracurricular experiences offered at your child’s centre are included within their daily fee, giving children more opportunities to explore new interests without any additional fees. Each centre’s program is thoughtfully shaped around children’s interests, family input and the community around them, so experiences can evolve alongside the children.
Extracurricular experiences can introduce children to new ways to move, create, experiment, communicate and discover while giving them opportunities to follow the interests already capturing their curiosity.
Music gives children another way to communicate, create and connect. Through rhythm, sound and movement, children can experiment with self-expression while building confidence and enjoying shared experiences with others.
Through these experiences, children can explore:
Making, imagining, experimenting and bringing ideas to life.
Creative experiences give children the freedom to explore their ideas in different ways. Through art, sensory play, storytelling, construction and hands-on discovery, children can experiment, make choices and see where their imagination takes them.
Through these experiences, children can explore:
Exploring the natural world and discovering ways to care for it.
Nature-based experiences encourage children to look closely, ask questions and develop connections with the world around them. Through hands-on exploration, children can investigate living things, sustainable practices and their environment while following their natural curiosity.
Through these experiences, children can explore:
Building confidence through movement, coordination and physical play.
Active experiences give children opportunities to move their bodies, practise new skills and challenge themselves in ways that feel fun and engaging. Through games, sport and movement-based experiences, children can build coordination, confidence and an enjoyment of being active.
Through these experiences, children can explore:
Connecting with the people who help keep our communities safe and supported.
Visits and experiences with emergency services and other community members give children opportunities to meet the people behind familiar roles, ask questions and learn more about safety, helping others and the community around them.
Through these experiences, children can explore:
Discovering food, ingredients and practical skills alongside our in-house chefs.
Cooking experiences give children opportunities to explore ingredients, flavours and how food is prepared. With support from our in-house chefs and Educators, children can get hands-on, follow simple processes and build confidence while discovering more about the food they eat.
Through these experiences, children can explore:
Creating opportunities to learn about and connect with the world’s oldest continuing cultures.
Through meaningful experiences, children can be introduced to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, stories, perspectives and connections to Country, supporting respect, curiosity and a growing understanding of Australia’s First Peoples.
Through these experiences, children can explore:
Discovering the languages, traditions and cultures that make our communities unique.
Cultural experiences create opportunities for children to learn about the diverse people, places and traditions that make up their world. Through music, language, storytelling, food, art and shared experiences, children can develop curiosity about different cultures while building respect for the identities and backgrounds of others.
Through these experiences, children can explore:
Taking learning beyond the centre and into the community around them.
Excursions give children opportunities to explore new environments, connect with their local community and bring their learning to life beyond the centre. From visiting local places to participating in community experiences, each outing can encourage curiosity, confidence and a growing understanding of the world around them.
