How do you access information about your child’s day?

Kids Club used an online platform and app that enables you to have access to your child’s learning and information at anytime, anywhere. This app provides families with real time access to their child’s day and helps families to feel more connected to their children.

Updates include information on meals, sleep, bottles, nappy changes and what is happening in the room on the day.

Is there visible learning in the environment and on display?

Yes! The children are at the heart of everything we do, which is why we display their works of art, their accomplishments and their progress throughout the centre.

What will the routine be in my child's room?

At Kids Club, our Educators are proud to deliver a rich, age-appropriate curriculum for early childhood programs.

While our program includes room routines, please note these are flexible – particularly for our youngest of children, where we work to follow their individual routines from home.

You can see what the routine is like in your child’s room based on their age bracket here:

How do the centres look after my child's nutrition?

At Kids Club, we believe in providing only the best nutrition for our growing children. Each day, children are treated to a selection of freshly prepared meals across all our Kids Club centres. We have a highly nutritional childcare menu prepared by our in-house Chefs.

Is the building fixed with quality security access?

Your child’s safety is our top priority, which is why we have various safety and security measures in our centres including biometric login/logout systems.

What are the staffing arrangements at Kids Club Childcare, including Educator qualifications, ratios, and ongoing professional development?

At Kids Club, we follow various strategies to ensure the governance and leadership is met and upheld. They are as follows:

Our Educators are at the heart of what makes Kids Club a truly exceptional nurturing environment for your little ones. Our team consists of qualified and experienced Educators that not only nurture and care for your child but plan, implement and deliver high quality programs and a rich childcare curriculum, establishing a safe and trusting bond with each child.

Ratios are calculated across each centre as a whole. This gives providers the flexibility to respond to ensure Educators are allocated appropriately based on the age and needs of children in the service. The current ratios as per the ACECQA guidelines are as follows:

  • For children from birth to 24 months old, the ratio is 1:4 in all states and territories.

  • For children over 24 months and less than 36 months old, the ratio is 1:5 in all states and territories except Victoria, where the ratio is 1:4.

  • For children from 36 months up to and including preschool age, the ratio is 1:11 in the Australian Capital Territory, Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, and Victoria, and 1:10 in New South Wales. In Tasmania, the ratio is 1:10, or 2:25 for children attending a preschool program. In Western Australia, the ratio is 1:10.

  • For children over preschool age, the ratio is 1:15 in the Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, and New South Wales. In the Australian Capital Territory, the ratio is 1:11. If no kindergarten children are present, the ratio is 1:10 for the first 12 children, then 1:13.

All of our Educators are carefully selected to ensure that they uphold the values and philosophy of Kids Club. We are constantly investing and mentoring our team to further their education and training through a variety of workshops, in-services, team meetings, practice and theories, reflections and collaborations within the Kids Club family.

What collaborative partnerships does Kids Club Childcare have with families and the wider community, including support services, extracurricular activities, and opportunities for parent feedback and involvement?

Kids Club Early Learning Centres firmly believes that collaborative partnerships with families and the broader community play a vital role in children’s growth and development. We prioritise establishing meaningful connections with families and honouring their cultural and personal values, expectations, and viewpoints. We also actively engage with the local community to enhance our collective knowledge and skills, ensuring the best learning experiences for our children.

When a child requires additional support services, we prioritise their well-being and work collaboratively with the family to fulfill their specific needs. Our team is committed to advocating for all children and supporting families throughout their child’s enrolment.

We recognise that families are an integral part to their child’s learning journey and offer them various opportunities to participate and share ideas in their education. Our partnerships are grounded in mutual respect, effective communication, and shared responsibility for the child’s development. Our program aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), prioritising children’s sense of belonging, being, and becoming. Additionally, we provide exciting extracurricular activities designed to spark children’s passion for learning.

When does school readiness begin at Kids Club?

All children in our preschool rooms embark on a formal school readiness program as part of their preparation for primary school. However, the informal process of school readiness begins the moment a child attends a Kids Club centre, and they start to learn basic life skills – social, physical and cognitive.

Which of your centres offer the school readiness program?

All Kids Club centres across Australia offer school readiness as a standard component of our pre-school education. We have centres in QLD, NSW, VIC and TAS, including city CBDs and remote locations.

Do you receive funding for your school readiness program?

State governments provide preschool funding throughout NSW, VIC and QLD. Our centres throughout these states are all eligible for funding. To check your eligibility for any funding, we encourage you to speak to your centre Director, who can further advise if fee relief will be passed onto your session fee or gap fee based on the current regulations each state offers.

What is the difference between preschool and long day care services?

Preschool and long day care services both offer support in children’s development, preparing them for a transition to formal schooling. One of the main differences lies in shorter hours at preschool, which usually operates during school terms and for limited hours each day.

What Makes a Kids Club Educator?

At Kids Club, we believe our people are at the heart of everything we do. Every Educator is passionate about creating a safe, nurturing and inspiring environment where children feel valued, supported and confident to learn.

Our Educators work closely with families to understand each child’s individual needs, interests and strengths. Through meaningful relationships, play-based learning and intentional teaching, they help children build confidence, independence and the skills they need for future learning.

Committed to continuous professional development, our team works collaboratively to share knowledge, reflect on best practice and deliver engaging learning experiences that support every child’s growth and development. By observing each child’s progress and responding to their unique learning journey, our Educators create inclusive programs that help every child thrive.

What is the most important thing in preschool?

Children benefit from learning valuable physical, cognitive and social skills during their early years. A structured daycare environment allows children aged three and above to adopt those skills in a safe space, encouraged by specialist Educators to think independently while learning through play, preparing them for big school. No one thing about preschool rooms is more important; however, a blended approach to daycare daily activities and multiple opportunities to learn, play and socialise is essential.

Is daycare stressful for toddlers?

All children are different. Some will adapt to a childcare environment quickly, while others will take longer to familiarise and feel settled.

Our nurturing and caring Educators look to support children entering the daycare environment for the first time and instil trust, security and ensure they feel safe and happy in their new surroundings.

Is daycare better than staying at home?

Many studies show the benefits children in their early years gain from a childcare environment, with structured daily activities that teach valuable life skills, preparing them for later years. Childcare rooms also provide a place for children to socialise with others their age, which is different for many kids who stay at home.

Why are routines important for children in childcare?

Young children feel secure when their activities are familiar and predictable. A set routine in the daycare environment helps children understand what comes next, encouraging them to relax and feel better prepared for learning. Kids Club has a flexible daily routine for all our daycare rooms – from our youngest children in the nursery room to our 3+-year-old preschool children – providing security and structure to help them thrive.

How do you create a positive learning environment in early childhood?

Creating a positive environment is essential for childcare rooms to help children engage in learning. Kids Club daycare centres offer lots of space to play, safe and modern equipment, and a structured routine with age-specific activities delivered by our qualified and nurturing Educators. Each Kids Club is custom designed to facilitate learning in early childhood.

At Kids Club, we understand that physical environment in childcare is crucial to the development of young minds and bodies. Here are some key strategies and features that we incorporate in our daycare rooms to ensure a positive learning environment in early childhood:

  • Safe and Secure Surroundings: Before anything else, children need to feel safe. Our facilities are equipped with secure entrances and exits, and we conduct regular safety checks to ensure that equipment and toys are in good condition and free of hazards.
  • Bright and Inviting Spaces: Our centres are designed with vibrant colours, natural light, and engaging visuals, encouraging children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning.
  • Learning Zones: We create specific zones for various activities such as a reading corner, art and craft area, quiet area and a space for physical activities. These dedicated zones help children understand the purpose of each space and help in seamless transitions between activities.
  • Natural Elements: Research shows that incorporating nature into learning environments can have multiple benefits. Therefore, we include indoor plants, nature-based toys, and even outdoor learning spaces to encourage a connection with nature.
  • Cultural and Inclusive Materials: We provide toys, books, and materials that reflect various cultures, family structures, and abilities. This promotes acceptance, understanding, and inclusivity among the young learners.

By meticulously integrating these features and practices, Kids Club ensures that children not only learn but also thrive in a positive, nurturing, and stimulating environment.

Why is the outdoor environment important for children?

The outdoor environment in childcare plays a pivotal role in children’s development and well-being. It’s absolutely essential for:

  • Physical Development: Outdoor play allows children to develop their gross motor skills. Activities like running, climbing, jumping, and swinging help in strengthening muscles and bones, improving balance and coordination, and promoting overall physical fitness.
  • Vitamin D Exposure: Natural sunlight is a primary source of Vitamin D, which is essential for bone and immune system health. Regular outdoor exposure ensures children get an adequate amount of this crucial vitamin.
  • Cognitive Development: Being in nature stimulates children’s curiosity and imagination. They learn about the world around them, from understanding the life cycle of a caterpillar to the process of photosynthesis in plants. Such real-world experiences can be more impactful than just reading about them.
  • Emotional and Social Development: Playing outside often involves group activities. This can teach children about cooperation, negotiation, conflict resolution, and sharing. It also provides opportunities for them to understand their emotions better, like dealing with the frustration of not being able to climb as high as a peer or the joy of achieving a new task.
  • Enhanced Creativity: Open spaces, natural materials, and the freedom to explore can lead to imaginative play. Children might use rocks, leaves and sticks as makeshift toys, invent games, or create stories inspired by their surroundings.
  • Improved Concentration: Several studies suggest that children diagnosed with ADHD show improved concentration after spending time in nature. The outdoors offers a rich tapestry of sensory experiences to nurture sensory stimulation. The feel of sand, the sound of birds, the sight of fluttering leaves – all these help in refining sensory skills and perceptions. Nature holistically has a calming effect on the mind. The natural environment can reduce stress and anxiety, and promote feelings of well-being in children, just as it does in adults.
  • Holistic Development: Combining indoor learning with outdoor experiences ensures that children get a balanced and comprehensive education. They not only develop academically but also grow physically, socially, emotionally, and morally.

The outdoor environment isn’t just an extension of the indoor classroom but a unique, multifaceted platform for holistic child development. Encouraging children to spend time outdoors can set the foundation for a lifetime of appreciation for the natural world and promote physical and mental health. Which is why Kids Club is famous for their award winning playscapes!

What Extracurricular Activities Are Offered At Kids Club Early Learning Centres?

At Kids Club, children enjoy a variety of enriching extracurricular experiences that complement our play-based learning program. Depending on the centre, these may include music, sport, language programs, yoga, dance, STEM experiences, sustainability initiatives, cultural incursions and other engaging activities delivered by specialised Educators and trusted external providers.

Each experience is thoughtfully designed to spark curiosity, build confidence and support children’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive development, while encouraging them to explore new interests in a fun, nurturing environment.

Are Kids Club Extracurricular Activities Included In Childcare Fees?

Yes. All extracurricular activities at Kids Club are included in your daily fee, with no additional costs to families. These experiences are integrated into our educational program, giving every child the opportunity to explore new interests, develop new skills and enjoy a rich, engaging early learning experience.

How Are Extracurricular Programs Tailored To Each Kids Club Centre And Community?

No two Kids Club centres are exactly the same. We work closely with our Centre Directors, Educational Leaders, Educators and families to develop extracurricular programs that reflect the interests, needs and strengths of the children at each centre.

By tailoring activities to each local community, we create engaging learning experiences that encourage curiosity, build confidence and support every child’s growth through play-based learning.
