The kindness jar provides children with the opportunity to celebrate their emerging sense of identity and their awareness of the rights of others and how they can contribute to a shared community through kindness and empathy.
Items Need (& Equipment if needed)
- Jar
- Kindness pledge created by the children
- Pompoms or alternative item
Methods/Steps
When the child displays a positive action or behaviour from their pledge, they celebrate this by placing their pom pom or their chosen item into the jar. When they jar is filled the child can engage in a chosen form of celebration.
