School readiness is of utmost importance at Kids Club Early Learning Centres. We recognise that preparing children to transition to formal schooling in the Early Childhood Education and Care setting sets the stage for their future academic success and overall development.
That’s why our comprehensive school readiness program focuses on a holistic view, where we nurture essential cognitive, social, emotional and physical skills in each child.
By providing age-appropriate educational activities, promoting a love for learning, and fostering positive relationships, we ensure that our children enter primary school with confidence, curiosity, and a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Our commitment to school readiness empowers children to thrive in the classroom and beyond, preparing them to become confident, capable, and enthusiastic learners.
The Kids Club School Readiness Program offered at our Early Learning Centres is designed to provide children with a strong foundation for a lifelong love of learning. This program is suitable for children of various ages prior to starting school, including those in kindergarten and preschool. By fostering child-led learning, the program focuses on the holistic development of children, ensuring they are equipped with essential skills for their future education.
Our learning environments have endless opportunities for children to learn and grow through experiences, interactions and exploration.
Some of the benefits children gain from exposure to our program for preschoolers include:
Kids Club School Readiness Program encourages social skills through active listening of their peers, self-expression, friendship, sharing, cooperation, and accountability, enabling children to engage better with those around them.
Kids Club early education builds a foundation for physical, mental, emotional, and social development, reducing the need for special education in primary school and beyond, setting up children for a lifetime of learning.
Kids Club fosters confidence, curiosity, self-regulation, and resilience, leading to better performance in later schooling. Children settle more easily in the school setting and develop a long-term interest in learning.
Children’s learning is monitored through large blocks of uninterrupted play, which enhances their development through meaningful interactions with Educators, peers, and the environment. Educators record and evaluate each child’s interests and developmental needs, assisting in future planning. The weekly program is reviewed and implemented, and Educators engage in critical reflection to improve teaching strategies and practices.
This is a continuous cycle without expiration and promotes progress. Educators engage with the programming cycle for each child and the class as a whole, ensuring that the program caters to both the child and the group in a cohesive environment.
All children in our preschool rooms embark on a formal school readiness program as part of their preparation for primary school. However, the informal process of school readiness begins the moment a child attends a Kids Club centre, and they start to learn basic life skills – social, physical and cognitive.
All Kids Club centres across Australia offer school readiness as a standard component of our pre-school education. We have centres in QLD, NSW, VIC and TAS, including city CBDs and remote locations.
State governments provide preschool funding throughout NSW, VIC and QLD. Our centres throughout these states are all eligible for funding. To check your eligibility for any funding, we encourage you to speak to your centre Director, who can further advise if fee relief will be passed onto your session fee or gap fee based on the current regulations each state offers.
Preschool and long day care services both offer support in children’s development, preparing them for a transition to formal schooling. One of the main differences lies in shorter hours at preschool, which usually operates during school terms and for limited hours each day.
