Do you love wearing your warm and snuggly pyjamas when it’s cold? How about wearing them to school or work? If you answered yes, then you would have loved wearing your favourite pyjamas to Kids Club to support little kids with big dreams!

Recently, our Kids Club centres invited children and staff to wear their favourite pyjamas in honour of National Pyjama Day on Friday, 19 July. This initiative is all about raising much-needed awareness and funds for children living in foster care.

Foster children often face instability, moving between homes and schools, which disrupts their education and hampers their ability to thrive. Without support, these kids risk falling behind in school, developing mental health issues, facing future unemployment, and making poor life choices.

Donations made during this drive help The Pyjama Foundation recruit, screen, train and match a “Pyjama Angel” mentor with a child in care. These mentors read books, play educational games, assist with homework, and more. Most importantly, they empower foster kids with learning, life skills and confidence.

Kids Club Clarence St joined in for the comfiest day of the year by hosting their very own fundraiser with an ambitious target of $500.00. Thanks to the incredible generosity of their community, they’ve not only met but far exceeded that goal, with their centre Director Jamie thrilled to share that they raised an astonishing $631.00, all of which will go directly to supporting children in need.

Jamie also wanted to extend a special thank you to Geremiah’s family for making Pyjama Day extra special by kindly donating a range of stuffed toys for children to choose and take home. Jamie stated, “Kindness comes in many forms, and being part of a village that wants to make a difference is incredibly empowering.”

You can still be a part of this heartwarming initiative and help The Pyjama Foundation reach even greater heights. There is still plenty of time to host a Pyjama Day at school or work throughout July and August. Whether you’re organising a small gathering with friends or a large event at your workplace, every effort counts and contributes to a brighter future for children in foster care.
