Sometimes it is easy to overlook the amazing work early childhood educators and teachers do in guiding and educating children every day. It is important to show recognition for the important work they do to shape the future leaders of our world. “Educator of the Month” is a way of showing appreciation for their passion, knowledge, and enthusiasm. To recognise their achievements, their strengths and the challenges they overcome as a result of dedication, perseverance and team collaboration.
We encourage families, children, and educators to be involved in the selection process of Educator of the Month. Through involving everyone in the process it provides opportunities for families to voice their appreciation for the Educators and also allows the children to have a voice and thank their Educators who they love and admire immensely.
Miss Kubra started with us last year at Kids Club Clarence Street as an assistant Educator in the toddlers room.
This is one of the most rewarding rooms to work in due to the burgeoning skills of our toddlers, but it can also be the most challenging. Miss Kubra has used her extensive knowledge and positive personality to find new and interesting ways for toddlers to learn.
When the room Leader’s position came up, Miss Kubra was promoted to Lead Educator. Under her leadership she has built a team of educators who she extend their knowledge on enhancing the children’s learning environment It is always challenging working with toddlers , but Miss Kubra often can be heard talking about all the wonderful achievements the toddlers are reaching and how else they can be challenged in the room.
Miss Kubra does many things behind the scenes at Kids Club, researching learning environments, behaviour management styles and sometimes even helps Miss Shelli in the offce. She is ready to go above and beyond for the children and the families that attend Kids Club. We are very lucky to have her as part of our team.
My favourite moment of the day is when the children are deeply engaged in an activity where they can learn and make sense of their world, seeing the thought process and sparks in their eyes when they learn something new as I watch them take it back to their families and carers makes my day worthwhile.
My experience in early childhood has been fantastic! The ability to make a difference and be able to create an environment which is safe and secure within a child’s life has been very fulfilling. Being able to walk in and sense the positive energy which Kids Club provides as soon as I walk in those doors ensures my day is going to be surrounded by fun and enthusiasm. I have been able to grow into an enthusiastic professional early childhood educator who is always thinking and exploring.
I chose to be an early childhood educator based on the pure fact that I wanted to make a change! And what better way to do that than being a part of educating the future generations and essentially setting them up for a long, healthy life.
Miss Kubra’s favourite quote is:
“Education is a natural process carried our by the child and is not acquired by listening to words but by experiences in the environment”- Maria Montessori
